Psalms 27

A Psalm of Fearless Trust in God.

A Psalm of David.

1 The Lord is my alight and my bsalvation;
Whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the
Or refuge
,
ddefense of my life;
eWhom shall I dread?
2When evildoers came upon me to fdevour my flesh,
My adversaries and my enemies, they gstumbled and fell.
3Though a hhost encamp against me,
My heart will not fear;
Though war arise against me,
In spite of this I
Lit am confident
shall be jconfident.

4 kOne thing I have asked from the Lord, that I shall seek:
That I may ldwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life,
To behold mthe
Lit delightfulness
beauty of the Lord
And to
Lit inquire
,
pmeditate in His temple.
5For in the qday of trouble He will rconceal me in His
Or shelter
tabernacle;
In the secret place of His tent He will thide me;
He will ulift me up on a rock.
6And now vmy head will be lifted up above my enemies around me,
And I will offer in His tent wsacrifices
Lit of shouts
with shouts of joy;
I will ysing, yes, I will sing praises to the Lord.

7 zHear, O Lord, when I cry with my voice,
And be gracious to me and aaanswer me.
8 When You said, abSeek My face,” my heart said to You,
Your face, O Lord, acI shall seek.”
9 adDo not hide Your face from me,
Do not turn Your servant away in aeanger;
You have been afmy help;
agDo not abandon me nor ahforsake me,
O God of my salvation!
10
Or If my father...forsake me, Then the Lord
For my father and ajmy mother have forsaken me,
But akthe Lord will take me up.

11 alTeach me Your way, O Lord,
And lead me in a amlevel path
Because of
Or those who lie in wait for me
my foes.
12Do not deliver me over to the
Lit soul
,
apdesire of my adversaries,
For aqfalse witnesses have risen against me,
And such as arbreathe out violence.
13
Or Surely I believed
I would have despaired unless I had believed that I would see the atgoodness of the Lord
In the auland of the living.
14 avWait for the Lord;
Be awstrong and let your heart take courage;
Yes, wait for the Lord.
